Today we looked at the detailed patterns found on animals. We looked at printmaking techniques and materials and then created our own butterfly prints. We carefully thought about our designs and then made the print template with pipe cleaners. Finally we used sponges and paint to create our colour effects and printed into our sketchbooks.
Today, we used clay to practise skills such as rolling a ball, rolling a cylinder, making slip, scoring, joining pieces and attaching with pins. We discussed how best to create these shapes, what different techniques we could use, and how we might use them in a clay model.
Today we used the clay skills we have been practising to create our own Bankura clay horses. The children we so resilient and showed such attention to detail. The finished products are just fabulous!
Ask your child about Bankura Horses and how they are made.
