Year 6 began their ‘Arts Week’ activities with Chinese Music inspired artwork. They listened to music to inspire their creations; using dots, curves, patterns, lines and shapes, with colour as a medium to represent the intensity of the music.
Sounds
To continue with Arts Week, the children created their own soundscape to accompany their Chinese Folktale. Working in groups they chose musical instruments that would portray events within the story.
Moves
The third part of Arts Week included drama activities to role play their Chinese Folktale and capture freeze frames to use in the 4th Arts activity.

The fourth activity for Arts Week required the children to combine their drama and freeze frame pictures into an iMovie. They then added some Chinese themed music as their soundtrack.

To finish off Arts Week, the children performed their English narrative poems. Their poems summarised the Chinese folktale and included a range of figurative language.
