We will be spending the next 2 weeks on a newspaper report. You need to imagine how humans will evolve in the future.

Have a look at the examples of a Newspaper.

What features do they all include?

Create a list of features to include in your newspaper report.

Think about the headlines that have been used. What could your headline be for your report? Create your headline. For example, if your Newspaper report is about humans having longer thumbs in the future due to an obsession with texting. Possible headline: ‘Texting thumbs by 3016’.

Effective headlines are catchy, serious, humorous, short, and use alliteration and action verbs.

Art – Close your eyes and imagine that you’ve been catapulted far into the future.

You’re face to face with a human race that has gone through thousands of years of evolution. Everything is different. The environment has changed.

Society has changed. Nothing looks the same.

The world as you know it has changed and moved on, so how are you going to survive? What will you need in this new world?

It’s time to meet your future self.

Draw a picture of how you think humans will look in the future. How might we change. In the background, draw what you think the world will be like.

Handwriting – Complete pages 12 and 13 of your handwriting book. DO NOT RUSH! Make sure your letters are joined, on the line and your small letters are the same size.
