Phonics games

Here are some game ideas you can do to support your child's phonics/reading. You may be able to create some of your own games using the sound cards or tricky word cards. Remember that tricky words can not be sounded out, they are words that need learning by sight. Here is a list of the sounds/tricky words learnt so far if you need to make some new cards:

Splat game

Create words using 3 cards. Encourage children to 'spot the diagraph', 'sound talk', 'blend'. This will be great to support your child to read.

Board games

Add the sound cards or tricky word cards to your favourite board games.
