CURRICULUM INTENT

At Spilsby Primary Academy, our aim is to foster our pupil’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. We aim to develop an interest in learning other languages in a way that is enjoyable and stimulating and develop their awareness of cultural similarities and differences around the world. We believe that the importance of language and cultural awareness will develop skills that will open up further opportunities later in life.
IMPLEMENTATION
- Promote enjoyment and purpose of learning a new language
- French songs introduced
- Use of a clear progressive sequence of learning that builds in spiral fashion.
- Pupils develop their knowledge and skills in the key pillars of speaking, listening, writing and an awareness of the importance of grammar.

Les animaux domestique- Y6 have been learning the different names for household pets. They learned to say what animals they had and also which animals they liked.
