We are looking forward to learning lots of new information together, through our exciting topics this year, and hoping to have parents and carers back in to school for some WOW events, fingers crossed!
Year 2B staff
Along with myself, Year 2B are lucky enough to be supported by Mrs Villiers, one of our Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA).
Year 2B will also be working closely with Year 2R so will also have the chance to work with Mr Roberts, Mrs Salmon and Mrs Curtis on some days.
PE days
PE will be on Mondays and Tuesdays this year. On these days, the children should come into school in their PE kits which will act as their 'uniform' for those days. As such, the children are expected to wear black/ blue shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms and a blue school PE polo shirt. Trainers or plimsolls should be black or a dark colour to reflect the PE 'uniform'.
Any child not wearing a PE kit on their PE days, will be asked to go home and change or run the risk of missing their PE session.
Reading
Children's reading books will be changed by staff within school time, so it is imperative that books are brought in daily. We will be keeping a record of which books the children have read to try and give them a different one to take home. However, it is also good practice for children to come back to books that they have already read and to check to see what they can remember from the text as well as encouraging them to read with more fluency. We will be continuing with the reading challenge in Year 2, so please aim to read with your child during the week to contribute towards this challenge.
Spellings
Children will be given spelling lists each term containing the spellings for the whole of the term. Each sheet states when the set of spellings needs to be learned for. Children can stick these sheets into their yellow homework books for safekeeping if preferred.
Website
Don’t forget to check our school website for information on upcoming events and activities, useful websites to support their learning and photos and information on what fun and exciting things the children have been up to whilst learning. Our website address is www.spilsbyprimary.org.uk.
If you need to contact me for any reason, please feel free to get in touch using the contact form below or calling the office to make an appointment to talk with me.
