Year 5 are very lucky to have support from Mrs Salmon and Mrs Hanson. Mrs Salmon and Mrs Hanson have a wealth of experience and expertise which will be invaluable!
P.E will take place on a Monday and Tuesday and the children will need to come into school in their P.E kit on this day. Please ensure that they are dressed appropriately - a tracksuit or leggings are fine for the colder weather. As their PE kit will be their uniform for the day it must adhere to the school uniform policy: School Uniform | Spilsby Primary School.
It is extremely important that you continue to support your child with their reading at home. Reading for pleasure has many non-literacy benefits and can increase empathy, improve relationships with others, reduce the symptoms of depression and improve wellbeing throughout life (The Reading Agency 2015). Children's reading books will be changed by staff within school time, so it is imperative that books are brought in daily. We will be keeping a record of which books the children have read; however, your child may enjoy reading their book more than once. This practice helps develop fluency and gives you the opportunity to ask your child questions about what they have read.
