Welcome to Year 6

Welcome to our class page. Alongside myself there will be Miss Cobb and Mrs Davies. We are all looking forward to all the exciting learning opportunities and events in the pipeline for this academic year, and the welcoming back of parents and family members to enjoy some of these at our Wow Events. 

Here you will find all the information you need for our class projects, class news, celebrations of our learning and homework pieces. The page will be regularly updated through the term and each project will have its own link (at the bottom of the page) to help keep things organised. All relevant project documents can found in each sub folder as well as photos and activity information. 

The children will still have P.E. twice a week: class session Monday afternoon, and a second session on a Wednesday morning with Mr Shaw of JB Sports. Next term's focus is Netball and will include outdoor activities, so please ensure adequate school uniform sport clothing and footwear are worn- Children will come into school wearing their kit on Wednesday only. Any changes to the school P.E. timetable, to allow for different learning experiences, will be given well in advance.

The children will receive weekly spellings, be encouraged to record daily reading sessions in their reading record, as well as using the TimesTable Rockstars app to improve speed of recall. Homework will continue as previously with a termly project based approach, with the minimum one piece to be completed and bought in no later than the first week back (see individual project links below for Homework sheets) and weeklyCGP homework booklet pages.. Please encourage your child to take responsibility for their home learning as this is promoted strongly in year 6, in preparation for transition to secondary.
