Persuasive Letters

The children have worked hard to write persuasive letters to King George III of England. First they looked at an example text, which helped define the features, structure and grammar expected in a formal letter. Next, they researched the evidence needed to support their main paragraph points. Finally they constructed each paragraph, paying particular attention to formality, persuasive techniques, the inclusion of the subjunctive form of the verb and some rhetorical questions.
