Safeguarding

Staff are trained to recognise potential Child Protection issues and report to the named person at school, who has received enhanced training.  Mrs K Clarke is our designated safeguard lead (DSL) and Mr M Nicholson is the deputy safeguarding lead (DDSL).  Miss Overton is also deputy safeguarding lead (DDSL).  

Safeguarding Reporting:

If you believe that a child or adult may be a victim of neglect, abuse or cruelty call:

You do not need to know everything about the situation. You may just be worried or feel that something is not right.

If you believe that a crime has been committed and there is an immediate risk of danger, call the police on 999 or 112.

Mental health support in Lincolnshire includes a wide range of NHS and community services. You can access free talking therapies, 24/7 crisis lines, and local wellbeing hubs, depending on your needs. Many services allow you to self-refer directly, while others are available through a GP.

Prevent Duty and British values

From 1 July 2015 the Prevent duty became law. This is a duty on all schools to have due regard to preventing people being drawn into terrorism. In order to protect our children, staff have ha training on how to become aware of any reason for concern in a child’s life at home or elsewhere. This includes awareness of the expression of extremist views.

British values are a set of four values introduced to help keep children safe and promote their welfare.

Operation Encompass

As of December 2019 we have become an Operation Encompass School, becoming part of a national scheme which runs jointly between all schools and the police.

Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced, any domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school's staff – the Designated Safeguarding Lead, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have recently experienced a domestic abuse incident.

We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
