Year 6C

Welcome to our class page

Welcome to the class page for 6C.

Our next project it 'Off with Her Head!'. The children will learn about Tudor life and Henry VIII.

Links at the bottom of the page will take you to their projects and these will be regularly updated.

Year 6 is a very important year for the children: not only are they the eldest children in school and take on additional school responsibilities but they have also have the end of year assessment tests for moving onto secondary education. To help your child with the pressures that they will face this year please encourage their independence and self-organisational skills.

The class will have project related homework to complete over each half term.

The children will also be expected to complete maths and English homework weekly, which is linked to their current learning. It is important that this homework be completed independently so that any misconceptions can be addressed when the homework is reviewed and additional support given to help their class work. Please however discuss your child's homework with them because this helps to embed learning and understanding further. This will come in the form of 2 CGP booklets, which the children will write in, and an accompanying maths resource book. In addition the children will have weekly spelling patterns and words to learn. They will practise these daily in class before being tested each week.

The children will have 2 P.E. sessions each week. One will be with myself and the second with JB Sports. It is vitally important that the children participate fully in these sessions and have a full P.E. kit in school from Monday to Friday, incase of swapped sessions to allow for memorable experiences or WOW events.

Finally, if you would like to contact me for any reason or have ideas that will help the children's learning please send a message via the email link below, leave a message at the office or catch me at the end of the school day.

Thank you for your support
