Curriculum overview for Term 3: What makes you super?

Superhero passport

The children at home and school created their very own superhero passport, which included details of their costume and super powers. The children used their phonics knowledge to support their writing. 

The children at home and school have been exploring how to stay healthy to make us super!

We discussed how a healthy, balanced diet keeps us healthy and we explored the food groups to be able to create our own healthy lunchbox pictures.

We also followed the cosmic kids zen food tasting video to use all of our senses to taste a variety of foods. 

The children then also made their own delicious fruit smoothies after following the instructions. 

Speech bubbles

The children at home and school have created a mind map of their super costume and super powers. They then used their phonics knowledge to write sentences within a speech bubble. 

Chinese New Year

The children at home and school have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We have learnt so much about the Chinese New Year traditions and celebrations. The children have been very creative to make Chinese lanterns, drums, dragon puppets and even some lucky envelopes.

Curriculum overview for Term 4: What will I become?

The children at home and school have been on a Spring walk to discover any signs of Spring. The children drew pictures of what they observed ready to support their writing of a list of what they had found. 

Planting sunflower seeds

The Reception children planted some sunflower seeds. They have learnt how to take care of the plants and now know what they need to be able to grow. The children have then used their phonics knowledge to be able to write instructions of the process of planting a seed.
