Today Year 1 and Year 2 had a very exciting visit from Mr Morton and his inflatable planetarium. We couldn't really take photos during the show because light pollution from IPads would spoil the show for the children.
First, we crawled through a short tunnel to enter the planetarium and then sat inside the dome. Mr Morton used a globe to explain day and night and a year.
He then projected huge, stunning images onto the wall to guide us through our Solar System. There were lots of gasps!
The final part was magical. We quietly sang, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" as the lights were fully dimmed and then a full projection of the night sky appeared across the dome. It was beautiful. Mr Morton pointed out different stars, planets and constellations before setting the whole projection moving across our 'night sky'.
We would like to say a huge "Thank you," to Mr Morton for starting our Moon Zoom project with a truly WOW event, and to the PTFA for making it all possible.
