Welcome to Year 6
Here it is - the final year of primary school and this year we will be focusing on developing those skills and attitudes that will help with transition to secondary school. Our Year 6 class takes on extra duties around the school to develop their sense of responsibility. We will, however, continue to enjoy our learning through our exciting theme-based projects.
We start with a trip back in time in the Land of the Pharaohs, where we will explore the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. Walk in the steps of Howard Carter as he discovers the incredible treasures of Tutankhamun and make their own scale model of his tomb.
Year 6 P.E. will be every Monday and swimming will take place on Tuesday, up to the end of term.
Year 6 children have been provided with homework packs, which include a maths study guide and workbook, and a SPaG workbook. It is essential that children take responsibility for ensuring their homework is completed, and packs back in school on a Monday for marking. Weekly spelling tests will also take place on Mondays.
If you have any questions or queries regarding your child, please do not hesitate to contact me, either through the contact form on this page, or outside at the end of the day,
