Natureland project

Look at our photos of how our Natureland project is developing.  From an overgrown area we now have a cleared area ready to start adding paths and different zones.  Mr Jacklin From The Wildlife Trust has been down to trim the lower branches of the trees and an army of parents, grandparents and volunteers from Morrisons at Skegness have been today to clear even more of the area.  It is looking great already.  We thank everyone who came and we will keep you up to date with the developments as and when they happen.

We will keep you updated with the learning we are doing in school.  Please click on the links to find out more.
We are hoping to have another family/community day on Sunday 6th April to continue our Natureland project.  We will be painting fences, laying slabs, building playhouses and digging gardens.  If anybody is willing to give up their time to help we are starting around 10:00 am and finishing around 1:00 pm 'ish.  Please bring any equipment you think you might need.
Mr Jacklin came in today (1st April) to show the children how to build a bird box.  See our photos and video to show what happened.  he also brought a beautifully carved sign for our Nature Land.

Playhouse is built  13th April 2014

Last Sunday staff and parents came to help build paths and playhouse bases.  This Sunday 5 parents returned to build the playhouse.  Six hours later it was up and looked absolutely brilliant and what a good job they made of it.  Mr Garrard, Mr Bird, Mr Howe and Mr Harper spent most of their Sunday building the playhouse and Mrs Harper spent her time filling in the gaps around the edge of the path.  Nature Land is now beginning to take shape and is looking very impressive.  We will now need to fill in the paths with bark, paint the fence and divide up the areas.

Changing Spilsby

Friday 4th April 2014

As part of a our Changing World topic Father Peter and Mr Raymond Gynn-Owen came to visit Year 3 and 4 to show the children photographs of how Spilsby has changed over the years since Victorian times.  It was interesting to see how the town centre has developed.  The children enjoyed guessing what the buildings now represented.
