Year 2 were shown 3 examples of the same type of shape. They were then challenged to tell me all the interesting maths facts that they could about it, which we then posted on our Maths Challenge display. Everyone knew that they were all examples of a cuboid. Arthur pointed out that a cuboid has 8 vertices. Hugh, Ben and Roxanne explained that there were 6 faces. Chrystal and Harvey added that it was a 3-D shape. Finlay said that a cuboid was like a stretched cube and Amber knew that there could be a mixture pf square and rectangular faces. Great maths facts Year 2!
