This week Year2 were asked to find how many different ways they could find of getting from 50 to 0 in only 2 jumps. We found number tracks and bead strings particularly useful, but some children also liked the base 10 apparatus and the Numicon.

Ben and Harvey exchanged a tens Numicon for 2 fives so they could find more combinations. Once some children started using patterns to help, e.g. - 1 and then - 49, -2 and then -48, -3 and then - 47 we had more answers than confetti!
