Week 2- Sorting and Classifying with Fireworks

Oh no! Now Spooky Spoon has arrived at Spilsby!
When we arrived in class today, we found that Spooky Spoon had been and left a trail on the floor!

Then we looked in the boxes of fireworks that we were going to use for our activities and they had all been emptied out onto the floor and mixed up!

It must have been Spooky Spoon. She loves to mix things up!!!

We thought we could use our super powers to help us to solve the problems but then realised that we had to put all our super powers in our brain to help us to think and solve the problem.

We worked in triads (groups of three) to work out how we could sort them into their boxes again. We talked a lot to work out how to sort them out TOGETHER.

Let's Solve the Problem and defeat Spooky Spoon!

We came back together to show how we had sorted them.

We explained clearly the different ways we used to defeat Spooky Spoon. We had defeated her at last!

Here are our soutions to our fireworks problem.

Sorting by colour of stick

"These fireworks all have red in them so they can go together." (Leah)

"These ones all have swirlies on, so they can go together." (Justin)

"And these ones have stripes, so they can go in the box." (Harley)

"The sticks are different colours so we can put the different colours together. There's only on with a blue stick, that can go by itself." (Spencer)

We were so excited about Spooky Spoon, we found lots of her friends too!
