First we tried to work out the value of the shapes in the first row (square and triangle). We thought about all the numbers we could add together to make 28 e.g. 10+10+4+4. Once we had decided on a value for the square and triangle we used this to solve the rest of the shapes but it didn't always work! Eventually we worked out that the square had a numerical value of 8 and the triangle had a numerical value of 6. Then we worked together to solve the remaining shapes.
