Hubbard's Hills Trip
The year 3 and 4 classes enjoyed an investigation packed trip to Louth on Monday 8th September to start their new topic 'Flow'.
The children showed good teamwork and work collaboratively to use ping pong balls and measure the river's velocity at different intervals along the course of the river.
They also had to work as a group and use their math's skills to calculate the depth of the river channel at determined markers across the width of the river.
Each group was in charge of collecting a soil and water sample at a designated spot, this was collected to be used in future investigations back within the classroom.
A bit of free time allowed for the children to enjoy the River Lud, with some immersing themselves fully into this activity!!!!
Good group work continued with an art-attack style competition, using natural objects to create a scene of their own choosing.
