So proud of these fabulous children who have been involved in the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children's Bureau (LSCB) JOSOs project. They joined other children from St Michael's in Lincoln at a very large county AGM with the “grownups” in education in Lincolnshire and came across amazing. Real evidence that pupil voice really does work in our schools.

As par of their project, Years 3 and 4 had visit from the community dental nurse. She taught us about dental health and keeping our teeth clean. We got to see how clean our teeth actually were. Best of all, we all got a brand new tooth brush.

Great ideas shared this morning at the New Life Centre, where our PTFA and representatives from New Life were making plans for the Spilsby Show!

Phenomenal morning in Yr 5 & 6 doing the 'ultimate dodge ball' competition raising money for British Heart Foundation & to get our very own community defibrillator on our public gates. A massive well done to all the teams, who even took part in a live interview with BBC Radio Lincs earlier today. In the afternoon, the children were all taught how to do CPR and how to use a defibrillator with the help of the LIVES team.

We even made the front page of the Spilsby Standard!

Some of our pupils have been attending New Life Centre to learn about Respect from Coach Jordan Turner from Spilsby Under 11s. A great session with some informative answers from the boys and a better understanding of Respect because of it.

As well wearing our Christmas jumpers and raising money for Save The Children, our pupils also spared a thought to those less fortunate than ourselves. Any spare clothes, blankets or donations of food were brought into school and then donated to the New Life Centre in Spilsby and Centrepoint Outreach in Boston who supports homeless, lonely and vulnerable people in the community.

Not everyday you get a mention from your local MP! Thank you Victoria Atkins for highlighting the great work done by our JPCSOs

More great community feedback from our JPCSO 'Scam Aware' Campaign

On December 8th, our JPCSOs took part in another fantastic community engagement activity with Lincs police. On this occasion, they headed into Horncastle town centre to deliver SCAM aware messages to the public. A brilliant project in helping others keep safe and the children received some amazing feedback from the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner!

Lincolnshire Police Bobby Bear had a brilliant meet and greet session with our Reception children.

A fabulous morning was spent at Spilsby Primary today when along with Toynton Primary School the reception classes from both schools had some very special visitors to find out about the roles within Lincolnshire Police and how they can help, the Bobby Bear scheme was launched along with "who we are' they all made bookmarks with their very own fingerprints and also got to play with the Police car sirens. A big thank you to everyone who got involved in making the morning super fabulous.

So excited to be working with Lincolnshire Police and Bobby Bear, delivering some fab safety messages to the Reception children at Spilsby Primary & Toynton-All-Saints Primary.

Sound check complete, audience in their seats and @SpilsbyPrimary choir are ready to perform for the Royal British Legion.

Our Y6's first taste of life at the Spilsby New Life Youth Club- a fantastic turnout!

Community outreach at its finest! David Bruce spent the afternoon talking to our pupils about his role as a Youth Pastor at the Spilsby New Life Centre. Lots of thought-provoking questions were asked including: "As a leader, do you use the Spilsby 7 at the New Life?" Consequently, the whole class was given the challenge of creating a set of values for the community centre! Look out for the 'New Life 9'

After receiving a lovely letter from the Spilsby & Hundleby Walkers, the school councilors and JPCSO's decided to write a letter of thanks in response.

The JPCSOs have been chatting to businesses this lunchtime to explain how the Lincolnshire Alert system can help

The Fire Crew, Police, Ambulance Service, Crime Investigators and Lives First Responders came into school for our 999 Day. We have had such an amazing time learning about what to do in an emergency and the meaning of ICE (In Case of Emergency). We learned all about the different vehicles, with all the extra fun parts like the sirens and hoses, rules and responsibilities in the Police Force, fingerprints and DNA, how to save lives using CPR and dressing up in the different uniforms. It has been such a fabulous opportunity and the children have got up close to the people in the community who are there to help us. A huge thank you to Mel Standbrook for organsing the day and to all the emergency service staff who have made this day such a memorable experience for the children.

Always a pleasure to read lovely comments about our children form the community. Well done Year 1!

A lovely email commending our Year 3 and 4 pupils after their visit to the church.

Dear Mr Clarke,

I am the organist of St James Church, Spilsby and talked about the electric and pipe organs to some of the children of your school this morning.

As a retired Head Teacher myself I would like to say how well behaved and polite the children were. Each group thanked me and didn’t make a fuss when many were unable to have the opportunity to sit on the organ stool. It was a pleasure to be with them. They were a credit to their teachers and the school.

I hope you will pass on my thanks for an enjoyable morning.Thank you.

Yours sincerely

Margaret Cook

To all at Spilsby Primary School,

I would just like to congratulate you on all of your amazing Christmas performances. I came to all four shows and I never once left disappointed. Firstly, I would like to give a special well done to all those who sang solos as they all sounded super. I think that a special mention needs to go to Louie Warner and Abigail Playfoot who both blew me away with their talents. Mrs Allen, you clearly have some potential stars in your class! Lastly, well done to all the staff that put the performances together, they were superb!

Miss Dawson

Following the visit from the Spilsby branch of the Royal British Legion, we were delighted to receive the following letters commending the children on their exemplary work and behaviour. We are extremely proud of the children and it is tremendous when honourable members of our community get to see this too.
