Palace Of Knossos
As part of the Gods and Mortals project the children investigated the island of Crete and the Palace of Knossos using world maps.
After a recap of the Myth 'Theseus and the Minotaur' the children discussed which parts of the story may have been true, were definitely true and could definitely not be true.
They then explored how archaeologists played an important part in uncovering the past and in particular Sir Arthur Evans who uncovered the Palace of Knossos.
The children worked in teams to draw their own palace type building, showing the types of rooms Sir Arthur might have hoped to excavate if his interpretation of a palace were correct.
They then recreated their interpretation of the Palace of Knossos.
