Our visit to St James

Year 3 Playlist Memorable Experience

As part of their ''Playlist' Project Year 3 went to visit St James' Church in Spilsby with a  special look and listen at the newly cleaned and refurbished church organ.

The children listened to different the sounds that the organ could create and had a close up look at how the pedals and buttons helped it work. They were then really lucky to have a talk with the church bell ringers and have a go at making the bells ring themselves.

They also had a look around the church at the stained glass windows to find the one dedicated to William Hill, one of the 2 or 3 greatest British organ builders of the 19th century, who was also born in Spilsby and built the organ within St James.
