On Wednesday the 25th of November Year 5 visited two very important airbases in World War Two: Coningsby and Metheringham. At Metheringham we took part in three activities which gave us a taste of what life was really like in 1940’s Britain. We even took part in an air raid meaning we had to take cover in a real life Anderson Shelter! In the afternoon we visited the BBMF centre in Coningsby where we had a very special behind the scenes guided tour. We got to see the Lancaster, Spitfire, Dakota and the Hurricane in the hanger and watch them being serviced by the RAF personnel.
