The Blood Heart project was finished with a WOW experience for years 5 and 6. They held an 'Ultimate Dodgeball' tournament to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and the intention to purchase a defibrillator, which would benefit the local community.
Each team had to create their own team name, team entrance music and team chant. They then had to design a team T-shirt to wear on the day.
Great fun was had by all. There was even a surprise for the children when the classes teaching staff, teaching assistants and head teacher rocked up in team t-shirts.
The aptly named SPARTANS (Spilsby Primary Academy Resilient Teachers an' Staff) upped the competition level and held no prisoners when facing the class teams!!
The day was completed by a visit from LIVES. The children took a closer look at a defibrillator and were shown resuscitation techniques should they ever need to use them.
To end the session a few children and Mr Clarke were interviewed on the success of the event by BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
