Child Protection & Safeguarding Information

Safeguarding

At Spilsby Primary we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all staff and volunteers have undergone an enhanced DBS check.

Staff are trained to recognise potential Child Protection issues and report to the named person at school, who has received enhanced training.  Mrs Penny Cragg is our designated safeguard lead (DSL) and Mr Andrew Clarke is the deptuty safeguarding lead.  Outside agencies are approached for assistance and support when appropriate.

Our Safeguarding Trustee, Ms M Standbrook, is responsible for monitoring all safeguarding procedures and reporting back to the Governing Body.

We follow up all incidences of bullying reported to us in line with our Anti Bullying policy.

Prevent duty and British values

From 1 July 2015 the Prevent duty became law. This is a duty on all schools to have due regard to preventing people being drawn into terrorism. In order to protect our children, staff have ha training on how to become aware of any reason for concern in a child’s life at home or elsewhere. This includes awareness of the expression of extremist views.

British values are a set of four values introduced to help keep children safe and promote their welfare.

All our parents and children are given a copy of our safeguarding leaflet- which is also displayed around school.
